Tehiyah Day School A Jewish Community Day School
Admissions

Welcome to Tehiyah Admissions! We are delighted you are considering Tehiyah Day School for your child.

Choosing the right school for your child is a significant decision. We want to be sure that Tehiyah feels like a good fit, that the community reflects your family’s values, and that our academic program will meet your child’s needs and maximize his/her potential. It is important that you spend as much time as needed visiting the school, talking to community members, getting to know Tehiyah, and having all your questions answered.

Tehiyah’s admissions process will give you an opportunity to learn about the school, tour the facilities and classrooms, visit with the teachers, and learn about our effective and individualized approach to education. You are welcome to spend additional time on campus, observing classrooms and students at play, talking with faculty and staff, and asking lots of questions.

If you're just starting the application process, the first step is to fill out our Admission Inquiry form. When we receive your request, we'll send you information explaining our our school's philosophy and curriculum and the admissions process. the Coggshall Family“We have two beautiful boys, each with their own distinctive personalities, and with two different sets of strengths and challenges. At Tehiyah, they are seen, welcomed, and nurtured. They are truly understood as individuals, their interests fostered, their unique needs met. Everyone here knows their names, from the Head of School, to the crossing guard. An institution like this is a gift - one where the lessons taught are priceless. “

The Haile Family “We felt Tehiyah was the best academic environment in the East Bay in which to raise our children. Though we are not Jewish, our three children love Tehiyah and so does our entire family! Tehiyah is a community that instills a love of learning, respect for individual differences, and a deep appreciation for culture, along with the opportunity to learn Hebrew and the Jewish Culture. We have fully become an organic part of the Tehiyah family -- we are Tehiyan's."

"Tehiyah wasn’t even on my radar when I was thinking about schools since I didn't consider the importance of sending my children to a Jewish Day School. One day, I ran into a parent who was also looking at schools. She told me I really needed to look at Tehiyah - that I owed it to myself. After my first visit, I completely understood why Tehiyah was such a special place. The kindergarteners looked so joyful, the courtyard was filled with song and, most impressive, a middle school boy held a door open for me as I toured the campus with a stroller. I quickly envisioned my children being part of this community whose values enabled a middle school student to hold a door open for a parent and baby. Tehiyah offers so much in addition to a stellar academic program. My two children love the warm environment and their smart, engaging, and encouraging teachers. I feel fortunate to be part of this great community."
