School Bus
The school bus from Oakland or Berkeley is FREE for the 2011-12 school year.
Activity Fees and School Outings
Field trips during the school day are taken in every grade, beginning in kindergarten. Grades 3-8 take overnight trips each school year. Week-long trips in grades 3-7 are generally in the Spring. Grade 8 takes two trips, one for one week and one for two weeks. In addition, the entire middle school goes away for a three day retreat. The cost of each of these trips is included in an annual Activity Fee, which is independent of tuition. This fee covers the cost of all grade-specific field trips, one Tehiyah Day School T-shirt (required for some PE classes and most field trips) and a 2011-2012 Tehiyah Yearbook. The Activity Fee schedule for the 2011-2012 School Year is as follows:

Tehiyah After-school Program (TAP)
There is an optional after-school program available until 6 p.m. For the 2011-12 school year, families may utilize TAP with unlimited use at a rate of $1000 per year, paid in advance. Drop-in after-school care is available at $12/hour for lower school students and $6/hour for middle school students.
The use of TAP from 2:30-3:15 p.m. – the time between the end of the kindergarten day and the 3:15 p.m. school bus departure time – will have no cost. This is a special arrangement to assist kindergarten families.
After-school enrichment programs such as Art, Mad Science, Intramural Sports, Athletic Games, Tennis, Karate, Yoga, Dance, Drama, Music Ensembles, Chess, Yiddish, Cartooning, and American Sign Language are offered. There is an additional fee per trimester, ranging from $100-$250 per class.
Incidental Items
Our middle school students facilitate a bagel lunch fundraiser once a month; participation is optional and is paid by check at one time. There is an optional hot lunch program available five days per week, the cost ranges from $3.75 to $4.25 per lunch., depending on whether lunches are ordered individually or for every day. Lunch is always available on a daily basis without preorder for $5 per lunch.
