I am honored to have been appointed Interim Head of School. I wholeheartedly support the vision for the school, and with the wonderful partnership of our administrative team, I pledge to do my very best to lead Tehiyah along the path of implementing our Strategic Plan and the Bridge to the Future.
Tehiyah has been central to my life since we first enrolled our daughter, Shira, in Kindergarten in 1984. Five years later, I left the corporate world to become the second Business Officer in the history of the school. Over the course of the next seven years, I also served as Development Officer and, in 1993-1994, was Interim Co-Director while the Board performed a Head of School search.
My experience at Tehiyah is extensive and has been deeply enriching as has the 28 years I have spent working in independent schools, both large and small. While my primary focus has been financial, I have also been responsible for or supervised facilities management, risk management, financial aid, fundraising, human resources, and technology departments. I have been a student advisor and a guest lecturer in high school English and History classes, and have served on other independent school boards, as well as both state and national association boards.
On a personal level, Tehiyah has given me more than I could ever give back or possibly describe. Through our daughter's enrollment, each of our family members formed truly lifelong friendships. It is my turn to serve Tehiyah, to work with the board and to support the faculty, staff, administrative team, and Deb. Together with our entire community, we will continue implementing the five pillars of Tehiyah's Bridge to the Future and we will see Tehiyah go from strength to strength.
